Get your custom home done the right way

When you choose Powanda Construction Company to build your new home or complete a renovation project, you become an integral part of the construction process.  You will work with us every step of the way so you get exactly what you want.  Here are the main steps in our process:

Initial Consultation

When you contact us for a home renovation or custom home development, we will get back to you right away.  During our initial conversation, we find out more about what you are looking for and answer any initial questions you may have.

Site visit

A visit to your home or job site is scheduled to get a first hand look at the project. We inspect the site and listen to you to find out what you would like to accomplish. We may make a few suggestions or share observations, and try to summarize what you would like us to estimate.

Architectural plan

If your design process is already underway, we usually meet the architect to review the plans. If there is no designer, we work closely with several quality architect firms and will recommend a design professional based on the requirements of your project 

As your home contractor, we will work with you and the designer every step of the way to make sure the plans meet your goals.

Construction cost estimate

After enough information has been gathered about the home construction or renovation, a detailed written estimate will be provided to you.

Construction agreement

Once you select Powanda Construction to complete the work, a formal contract is drafted and presented to the home owner for review and approval. A tentative start date is also provided.

Assemble Project Team

Once a contract has been signed, we will form a team of experienced and skilled professionals to complete the work.  This will include engineers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other workers needed to complete the job.

Preconstruction Planning

Before starting a project, we will hold one or more planning meetings with you and the architect to finalize all of the details and review the construction documents to make sure everything is the way you want it.

During this time, we will obtain the necessary permits, determine a schedule for ordering materials, and prepare a timeline for construction.

Home Owner Selections

Here is where you get to choose the moldings, fixtures, tile, door and other details that will make your new home or newly renovated home special.

Construction Begins

Now it’s time to start the work.  The professional craftsmen at Powanda Construction Company will take care to protect your existing home during any renovation project.  Each job is supervised very closely to ensure timely and accurate work is performed.  The construction process usually will include: 

• Demolition of existing home (if needed)

• Preparing the foundation
• Completing Framing
• Exterior Finishes
• Interior Finishes

Payments

You will make payments throughout the process to cover the costs of materials, sub contractors and other expenses.

Clearing the site

During construction, we will keep the site clean and clutter free. Equipment will only be left onsite for as long as it is needed. After the project is complete, all material and equipment will be promptly removed.  Your home will be cleaned and prepared for delivery to you.

Home owner inspection

Finally, at the end of the construction, we will walk you through the home for an inspection. You can let us know of anything that needs attention or repair.  Once these items have been corrected, you can inspect them again to make sure you are satisfied.  You will also get to check out the operation of new home appliances and mechanical features.  We will walk you through how everything works and answer any questions you may have.
